Foxit Reader is the first thing that comes into my mind when thinking PDF. Because Foxit Reader started as a free PDF reader/viewer, and in time evolved into a very stable product. Right now Foxit Reader is still free, however there’s a Foxit Reader Pro version that has more features than the free one (such as the option to add comments to the pdf, draw objects, measure, add text into an existing PDF, and much more). Plus, they’ve released a lot of PDF related products, which means that they know a bit about PDF. Anyway, Foxit Reader is the number one alternative (more like replacement) for the free Adobe Reader, mainly because it loads very fast and is more lightweight than Adobe Reader.
Foxit Reader Pro Pack costs $40, however it’s one of the offers on Trialpay which means that you can get it for free when you complete one of the offers from the advertisers listed via TrialPay. You can get it here: Foxit Reader Pro Pack (free via Trialpay).
For those that don’t know what TrialPay is and what completing an offer means, here’s a quote from a previous post on what that means:
The "complete an offer" first sounds a bit tricky, but trust me that if you used Trialpay before there's always a chance you'd complete an offer that costs you way less then the full price of Foxit Reader Pro Pack or even find an offer that requires no money from you, just to sign-up. For instance if you need to buy flowers, stamps or anything else that crosses your mind, you can do that via Trialpay and still get Foxit Reader Pro Pack free as a bonus when you complete that offer (Bestbuy, stamps.com, Sony, apple, and many others are available as advertisers you can complete an offer with).
What features does Foxit Reader Pro Pack offer:
- a PDF document viewer/reader, that is incredibly small, and incredibly fast
- PDF annotator (you can add comments to an existing PDF file)
- PDF to text converter, if you want to save the contents of a PDF in another format
- Typewriter tools (you can add text in a PDF)
- Drawing markup tools (draw objects in the PDF)
- Multimedia tools (add multimedia items in the PDF)
- Measure tools (you can measure sections of the PDF)
My review of Foxit Reader Pro Pack: I use Foxit Reader as my main PDF viewer for a long time now, mainly because I was not happy with all the things that Adobe Reader had to load until it started. Not only that, but I have the impression that all PDFs load faster with Foxit than they do with Adobe. Last on the list is the size, while the Adobe Reader download is a couple dozens megabytes, Foxit Reader’s setup is only a couple of megabytes. I always recommend using Foxit Reader instead of Adobe Reader. And, if you need additional options (the tool that lets you add text to an existing PDF is useful), Foxit Reader Pro Pack is worth it, even more if you get it free via TrialPay.
After, if you like Foxit Reader Pro Pack, you can order it via TrialPay. Foxit Reader Pro Pack is only one of many other offers that Trialpay has, you can see a full list in one of my older (but updated) posts – “Free with Trialpay” list of offers.
Other ways to get Foxit Reader Pro Pack for free: You have the choice of using the free version of Foxit Reader, or upgrade to the Pro pack via TrialPay.
